I'm guessing this might be an oft covered topic, so apologies for any redundancies.
I'm editing a project (FCP) in which the majority of footage is shot in 720/24pn, but I do have some which was shot at 1080i/24pa. My thinking was that I'd first need to convert the 1080i clips to 720pn, but when I dropped the 1080i clips into the 720pn timeline, give it a render, they played perfectly fine. Almost seems to easy. So, my question is this: Is there any reason not to do continue this workflow? Should I be converting the 1080i clips to 720 before I bring them into my project?
Many thanks for any advice any can offer.
