color trace weirdness on 7D & t2i

I consider myself fairly knowledgeable with Color but I'm not a guru and I'm stumped.

Can anyone out there can explain this weird vertical line near the center?

If I bring the 7D h264 media into color it is identical to when I transcode to prores first. I've seen it on my t2i footage as well

I'm seeing this uniformly across 200-300 clips both 7D and T2i in h264 and prores
Would really appreciate if someone can grab any 7D footage and throw it into color to see if they are getting the line.
The weird thing is I don't see anything bad in any of the images.

I'm using color 1.5 from FCS3 on a 2009 snow leopard iMac.
Spyder 3 color calibration, I dunno if that has anything to do with it, I wouldn't think so but you never know.

So you're saying the line looks exactly the same in the middle of every shot? Is there any difference in the line in the other shots meaning is the line thinner or thicker? If you crush the blacks say to an extreme is the line still there out of curiosity? Do you have any non 7d and T2i footage to throw in and test out to see if the line is in non DSLR footage?

See screengrabs in post 1.
Looking at their respective images shows nothing that would relate to it.

Line moves with it as if its data. Also it moves like data with any change to in room, out room or secondary room. Also with node trees.

I'm looking ... every drive is loaded to the max with t2i and 7d media as I have 3 projects on the go at the moment

edit:
I'm beginning to wonder if its my current editing system. Would you mind throwing some 7d/t2i footy into color and give me any feedback on the trace?

Hey Thomas, I would greatly appreciate if you throw some of your footage into color and check out the trace. Maybe post a pic. At this point I don't know if its my cameras, my card reader,
a clash with color and snow leopard and canon media or maybe its my spyder 3 for all I know. I'm at a total loss (and a bit tired as its the end of another long editing shift)

BTW I would be careful of posting your email address as bots crawl through text posts collecting email address for spammers.

T2i

1080 24P > Prores 4:2:2 (HQ)

Coming from someone that shades cameras regularly this makes no sense to me either.

Had one more idea to see if its something that just randomly gets thrown in there by the camera.

Shot a white background on my LCD monitor.

1600 ISO, 100 IRE across the board, no line.

100 ISO, not entirely blown out, line is back

I suppose. Probably the only reason on that 100 IRE example i put up is because everything is on one thin line.

Well as long as it doesnt effect the final product im okay with it :P

...hmm...what made him think that you are not a professioanl also?

But glad you got your answer.

Thanks for your responses, Ian, Thomas JoHA and draven.
Out of respect for the project I'm on I must delete the images associated to it.

Others who read this thread can still see cause/effect by following the RU link in post 11.
