Hehehe. I studied this in Psych class. I got 88% because the first few times I was rushed and got thrown off.

100%!!! (the second time... those directions were really the most confusing part)

My strategy was to NOT read the upper word, by not focusing my eyes on it. That way the word would not get mixed into my head. I would focus my eyes on the words on the bottom and simply see the words color in my peripheral vision. I tried it again reading the word, and got mixed up all the time.
