Color temp CONTROL QUESTION

I notice that the color temp can only work with presets from white balance. It appears that color balance will not work with the 32k and 56K preset. Is this the case or am I doing something wrong. If it is the case, is there a way to move the factory settings of the 32k and 56k to the A & B presets so I can use the color temp control with those... Thanks

That's my experience as well, why not just white balance of a whitecard?
The shift's you make will still be present.

Hi Guys, thanks for the response!

I have always looked at those 32k and 56k presets as indoor and outdoor film. It's always consistent and when I learn how a camera see's, these are always a base for me to start from. White card is a guess for the moment controlled by multiple variables, just me, however I never worked that way in over 20-years. Then again, I learned in film where we either switched film or put on correction filters.

If I do a white card, can I save that white balance data from the white card reading to a SD card so I can call that up if ever the HVX200 gets WB by accident and I need that certain AWB/Color temp combination back?

You cannot save white balance settings, no. White balance is only accurate relative to the lighting under which you take the reading; saving it would not necessarily serve any valid purpose because when you go to recall it, unless you're using the exact same lights in the exact same placement with the exact same gels etc, then the white balance would be wrong.

And yes, you were correct in your observation: color temp only works on manual (or ATW) white balance, it doesn't work on the presets.
