College Football and the AF-100

All the low angle shots are with the AF-100, over cranked 60 into 24.
Shot with a Sigma 70-200 2.8 EF with a 2x

Although I barely understand this game and its rules...I did find it exciting to watch as per this edit.
ie. Cutting out all the down time and just showing the action worked for me.

AF100 shots looked great

Interesting way to cover the game, I like how it worked out! (maybe upgrade the overhead camera next?)
A bed of crowd sound might make the audio edits less abrupt.
What kind of rig is the AF on?

I might be able to stomach watching football if all the games could be cut down to six minutes of concentrated action like that!

Looked great.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

The up cam is actually a much more expensive camera, it's an HPX2000 with an extremely expensive Fujinon broadcast lens.
We use it as our up cam in our big screen production.

Pretty crazy how good the AF-100, a camera package worth 1/20 the total price looks in comparison.

We have a 2000 as well - it's a beast - never ever thought to shoot sports on the little guy - I would like to see a shot of the rig also - and nice job - looked like NFL films....

haha! I'd feel kinda silly, except I really do prefer the AF's look (Paul too, I guess!), even if I didn't know the camera models.
The servo zoom is probably a necessity for overhead, but man, that AF looks sweet!

Maybe the 2000's settings/look could more closely match the AF's? Hard to say on Youtube, I don't know if it's detail, contrast or what, but the 2000 almost looks interlaced, and more washed out.

Still would love to see pics of the AF rig!

Here's our rig from that day with our makeshift rain gear (hpx-170 rain jacket with a custom cardboard/trashbag lens combo)

I have used my Sigma 70-200 on the AF100, but have yet to use the 2-timer.
I'll have to get it out and play a little, thanks for posting!
