Collections vol.4: Mint in box

Haha man... I was on the ground laughing for parts of this. I thought it looked great and had some top notch humor. Great job on this one, definitely a favorite of mine.

Dang, well there went my hopes of being in the top 2 :-)

GREAT film guys!! Lol, I had Star Wars toys as a kid, so yes, i was cringing.

I like the look, nice and grungy. How much did the 50mm Lomo run you?

Jordan, this came out nice man. That 'wilson' bit is my favorite part... got me going pretty good and your friend Thomas did an excellent job. His look at 5:40 is priceless...

Matty did an excellent job with the cinematography. Overall it's solid and consistent. 1:24 is my favorite shot, great comp there. And I also really like her MCU coverage while they're on the couch, she's got a nice glow.

This was a fun project to work on, glad it turned out well!

Simply brilliant. Laugh out loud funny.

Your actors were tremendous. The way they captured the awkwardness of a first date/first kiss was phenomenal.

Great story, great look, great editing, great sound, great music.

I would be shocked if this isn't in the top three.

My god...i dated that guy. I swear!...I'm not a Star Wars crazy person, but i still appreciate the references...cause it's hilarious!

Very wonderful!

Not bad!

Acting was brilliant, and they had the look for this film!

Loved the audio, and the akwardness. You nailed that. They nailed that.

I'll be watching this again!

glad everyone is digging it.

We're going to upload the extended ending/out takes with T.J. Miller soon. They're hilarious.

We might have another surprise coming too.... but that depends if matty_g and I have time.

I really have enjoyed the experience of this fest, everyone's contribution has made for a really interesting set of shorts.

DAMNIT! I typed up a bunch of stuff to say, and there was some error, or whatever. Lost it all, and it's too late & I'm too tired to do it all over again.

In short, I loved it. There were a few technical things I think could be improved, but with as many posts as there are on this, I'm sure they've been covered, so I'll save you any rehashing.

This film kept a smile on my face the entire time, and I really, REALLY enjoyed it! Can't wait to share this one with friends/family, and I'll be rating it high for sure. :)

Thanks for a GREAT contribution to the festival!

this.
was.
awesome.

The only criticism I have is that the tantrum maybe ran a little too long - it started to feel self-indulgent after a few cuts. But I am more than willing to forgive that, as everything else was so pitch perfect. Very, very well done.

This one took me by surprise. Having not checked out any of the threads before I started watching, and having heard nothing of this, I didn't know what to expect. You delivered a clever little short. The acting was pretty solid, too.

I didn't find it laugh out loud funny but found myself smiling several times. Technically, everything seemed to work well. My only complaint would be the length of the toy destruction scene. It ran on a bit long AND I'd have liked to see a little more inner turmoil coming through as he tore up his prized possessions. I didn't feel any of that until right at the end.

Good job.

hey guys, nice work. loved the muted hues and rich browns in the interiors. some of the edits worked against the stellar performances as they betrayed a continuity of performance. one in specific was outside when our geek hero started stuttering over himself on the sidewalk, some of the cutting there seemed to be in service of using the best beats of multiple takes, but it fractured the performance because there was a lack of "emotional" continuity across the cut... if that makes sense.

geek girl was really great. very earnest performance, although I was scratching my head a little over why she was so into getting inside this guy's apartment and then not so into him on the couch -- but i can take that as a complexity of her character as well. and last, your big payoff, smashing of the toys, went on a little long for me. the whole thing felt like it was riding a certain level of realism (despite the double moons) but then veered off into farce/slapstick.

these are all minor though. on the whole it was solid work and I only offer them up as fodder for creative consideration. well done.

Zak's reading of this movie [imho] is dead on. particularly on the jump cut tip.

but i think you guys should be gettin some more love! i gave you '*****' because of it.

this was Funny! and in my top 5 performances so far in the fest!

Hysterical! Great cast. One of the best in the fest. The lead in this is just perfectly cast. When he started stuttering near the begining I could not stop laughing.

This had me LOL'ing. The ONLY comment I have is that I wish we (as the audience) could have had something forshadowing the fact that the gal is a Star Wars freak but not have it be something let on to the guy... for me that would have made the tension be a lot more, and amped it up just a bit more. That having been said, it was hilarious!! Job well done!
