I'm looking to get a new tripod for my HVX but have heard some mixed results from asking around. I'll be shooting mostly in the winter time so I need something that won't freeze up in cold temperatures. Any suggestions?

Most all fluid heads will get a little stiffer in cold weather. This can be compensated with dampening. So, make sure you get a head with adjustable drag.
Hi Paul,
and in the case of my part of the world, most fluid heads get really loose in the heat of the day, making the first 75% of drag absolutely useless, dosent matter what brand head you use. I've used Millers, Sacthler, Vinten, Manfrotto... all in my experience have only 25% or less drag that's useable in temps over 37c.
I believe that most heads are designed for/in moderate climates, one day they may include a cold and or hot zone drag feature.

Thanks for the help guys. Has any had any experience with carbon legs in the cold? From what I have heard they are a little delicate but that could just be a myth.
