life sucks ..... but it s life .....

Is there a way we could set up an alert or automated response for this kind of thing..

Goes like this:
Newbie posts
Filter recognizes the workd "click" or "clunk" and flags the post.
Server then sends out a PM to anyone in a new public group "clunk team" that peeps could join. - or just PMs everyone with over 1k posts or summot, yeah..

..or we could just have the filter change "click" and "clunking" to "CLANG" and "CRASHING" :cheesy:

O.K., it's a plan. Let's lock down this thread so IT doesn't appear when somebody searches on "clunking".

Well, I guess the noobs rarely search anyway.

Here's to life finally not sucking anymore!

DAMN - I got all excited when I saw the subject line.
:)

I thought we had another opportunity.
Ahh well... patience guys - once all those new DVX100s go out, and the HVXs... as well as everyone who is plannign on picking up a used DVX on ebay .... I think we'll see a whole new crop of clunking posts.

I hope.

O man, that's great. Ok, how 'bout this:

"That clunking sound is a warning. It means your camera has received an electrostatic charge. You can maybe save the camera if you have some cinefoil around. If not, you can use regular aluminum foil.

Ok, wrap the DVX in the foil and make sure it's totally covered. Now put the DVX somewhere dark and quiet like in a closet or under a bed. Wait 48 hours for it to stabilize and then post here again."

Trust me. I'm part of the Clunk Team.

PJC,
Now *That* is funny!

I hope you don't mind that I will definatly use that at the next clunking thread if I beat you to it!

Make that one week, to give them enough time to get really frustrated.

It would be great if the FAQ for all those noob questions was included under the FAQ menu item at the top of the board. Seems like a place people would look first before asking the same old questions.

Coffee. I fully agree.

..Now all we need is a way to initate those who blurt out the true answer right away and spoil all the fun. - And I vote "no" to a clunk answer in the FAQ!

In this mythic FAQ, lets tell them that MF99 is infinity, then when their fotage is soft, we can tell them, " turn off the camera and tilt it back and forth, does it clunk?, if it does, then you need to do the Aluminum foil de electrifyiying process, under the bed."

I guess I might be one of those people. I didn't think we were still running with the clunk threads but I'm on board now. Clunk Away !!
I will prepare my clunk statement right way

No problem. I'm just imagining the newbie trying to get to sleep with the DVX under his bed. Thinking to himself, "Why is the world of digital video so mysterious?"

How about the "What's that Clunk?" in the FAQ linking to one of the screaming demons videos? That will learn 'em! :cheesy:
