Cloud Timelapse

Hey man,

That looked like something you'd buy off the net for a fill in for your video. Great shots you had!

Frame rate? Shutter? Plain DVX?

Thanks for sharing,

Robbie

Shutter speed was off (so 50 I believe). Frame rate was 24pa and then just sped up in post. Regular old DVX100 (non A or B) was used.

The clouds did all the work, I just had to point at them and let it roll. It was a beautiful day.

Thank you for your comments.

Also, as an aside, there was no color corrections made to any of these yet, just raw off the camera and thrown into a quick sequence.

thats cool, i have seen thoes black clouds in some stuff i have done, i like them!

I was actually expecting an actual time lapse either from the DVX or editing, but the sped up version that you did looks neat. I was disappointed when I found out the time lapse function was deleted from the DVX100B- only the original and DVX100A have it. Can't really complain, though.

what happen if you film it on slow shutter speed on the dvx

Since the clouds are moving so slow, it probably wouldn't really make a difference which shutter speed I was using, at least I wouldn't think so. Anyone else confirm or deny this?

I never use the timelapse feature, I always just figure recording straight through will get me good results, while with the timelapse feature, depending on settings I'm afraid it might come out jittery and/or missing some quicker events that are happening in the image.
