Clips on a a pc ext hdd???

Ok,

I feel like an idiot for asking this but here is my question.

I shot footage on my P2 card and offloaded to an external HD through my windows laptop.

We just got our editing system yesterday and I want to be able to access the clips saved on that external HD.

The HD is firewire/USB so can I connect the drive to my MAC and just copy the files from there?

Will the MAC ask me to format the external HD or will it recognize it and all the files on it with no problem.

If it is off the shelf it is likely Fat32 which either will read. If not, you will need to dump to a fat32 drive or transfer over a network to get the Mac to read them.
