Clip of my short film... feedback please

I like the actors... great delivery.

Trying to cover so much in a single shot without cuts takes away from the edit, though. And the use of on-camera mic kills it. Bad audio is always a major distraction. As the camera moves, the mic pickup is refocused, so voices drift in and out of being "up front" in the dialog edit. An external mic on a boom, with some one there to operate it, is a much better solution.

It's also obvious that your only lighting source was from the hotel room's existing fixtures. The lamp ended up blown out from exposing for the skin tones. Rent lighting if you can, and even keep a few 15-watt household bulbs in your kit to replace practicals so they don't overexpose.

The concept is good, and again I like the actors. But the shooting needs a little work. Keep at it!

Thanks for the feedback! I would definitely agree with everything you said, but we made those decisions consciously. We did have access to a boom mic as well as lighting options, but we figured with more people on set and trying to rig some kind of lighting setup together it would become a distraction for the actors(especially with inexperienced ones). Granted, I figured we would get flack for the style. But as long as the acting seemed natural, I can accept that.

Thank you again for the feedback C2V!

I enjoyed it.

I liked the tension and awkwardness that occurred. It was nice to have a bit of relief every once and a while with the humor too. Good mix there.

I agree with the long single shot comment, could have been broken up.

If this makes sense, the actors seemed a little too natural at points. It was as if they were really shooting for natural and they overshot.

Seems interesting though.

i liked it alot, but i agree with the maybe switch up some shots during conversation. but i just like to see different angle shots.

and the acting was really great, and i liked the dialouge

and yeah a boom mic would of been nice just because the voices gotta kinda low at parts but i know what u mean about the distractions, those suck

but overall, i liked it it alot

You didn't have to post this in two different places by the way ;)

And @yeahduderad, it's "would've," or "would have," not "would of."
