CLIP AND GRABS from SHORT FILM

If this is for a compuhtition (pronounced like Simon Cowell), don't forget to check the rules on music clearance.

Am I the only one who gets jumpy playback over my broadband connection? I've streamed it and right-clicked it too. Never have trouble with WMV...

I jsut got to this thead so sorry if this comment is a bit late....

but on teh first page you said the converstaions seemed natural. While thats true...that for me seemed to be the biggest weakness. It was so natural that it almost seemed unnatural if that makes sense.

You might want to pick up some movies (sorry that I don't have any recommendations) and really listen to how converstations are carried out in different ways and try to direct the actors in that direction. Sorry I can't be more descriptive, it's kinda hard to explain.

Maybe the whole problem is just with the audio quality and nothing with the acting. I don't know

I know it's a rough cut, I don' tknow what you want feedback on, but I noticed this with my picky eyes. The second cut, that shows the two side by side, before it cuts to the 2shot behind the guy, showing the girl... the color balance is different. The colors and whites are more dull, like the light levels changed. You should go into the color curves and add some more to that angle. When the guy says so.. do you think we can get together again, it seems like he starts off looking at the camera.. it seems a little awkard. (just from a directing standpoint) anyway.. i'm nitpicking. I like the acting, they both have a good presence.

And... the cut before she says ok.. I think it should cut to the closeup a little sooner, if the footage allows it. It seems to linger on the wide shot a little long. I think that's one of the cuts that feels awkward, that someone mentioned.

The footage looks very clear and nice. And I like the higher bit rate encodings more than lower encodings. If people don't have the machine to play 1000k streams they obviously need to upgrade :)

I think Bsmith may have an idea too.. the way they look around nervously, maybe it's over emphasized? It does make it more natural but maybe too much when he tilts his head all the way down? What do you think?

I think I'm screwed. We needed to pick up on the park scenes this Saturday and the actor got his wardrobe stolen out o his car so now we have to reshoot the whole park alltogether. I think that I will keep this scene though. I think going through and mastering the audio is gonna make a huge diff for you guys and also I will try to do less cutaways, but this dialougue is a frankestein of all the takes we did so it might be hard to get it done. Thanks for all your comments guys. The more the merrier:)

EEh! That sucks. Although I can relate. My friend who is doing lights and sound got his car broken into last week. He had all his equipment in there. Luckily all they stole was 3 prop guns that we were using in the movie. It sucks cause we cant shoot till we get new guns, but at least the thieves were too stupid to know what was really valuable in the car.

Lets just say he doesnt leave his stuff in the car anymore.

Hey Avatuar, I'm in production on my first feature film in the sacto area, called Vigilantes. We're shooting at the Air Museum in McCllelan, The City Incinerator off of Richards Blvd, Discovery park, They Hyatt, and a lot on the street since the film is centered around a band of homeless teens... anyway we should hook up.

I would have just emailed you directly, but your profile doesn't accept.
