I set all my scene files to 24p(a) with various settings to see what gave me, what i perceive as a Film Like image.. here's one of the test's that seemed to turn out pretty good to my standards..

have a look?!

This is very nice. The pastel environment and the soft lighting help the "film look" drastically. The colors and saturation aren't over the top and it feels very soft and natural. I like the atmospheres you take the viewer into with the hand-held, voyeuristic feel. And even though I normally roll my eyes at film burn/reel end effect work, this one felt almost appropriate. Is it a cliche? Oh yes, but did you blend it in smoothly? Certainly. Very pleasant bit of viewing. Nice work!

haha, Lawsuit Boy, thankyou for that feedback, you called it right on the point for exactly what i was going for.. I was thinkin' about making a short that is based around this monorail, that would be filmed/CC just about them same..

It was weird though, becuase if you looked at my original footage, it looks close but not so similar, i adjested Curves, Gamma, and Exposure.. in AE.

As for camera setting:
-3 for v detail
-3 for chroma
+2 for Iris - I think thats what gave me the softer brighter look, exposing it just a hair higher..

Heh, very nice. I really think you should do a short with this direction.

These types of images really aren't difficult to achieve. It just takes a skillful eye, an understand of the human range of perceptible color, digital color sampling, and a general knowledge of editing tools. Any look can be made. I personally feel that the more subtle images work in the most beneficial way.
