cleaning LCD screen? LCD covers?

I'm probably an idiot, but I just used my 7D for the first day and there are smudges on the LCD screen.

How do you guys clean your LCD screen? Just use some lens tissue and some lens cleaner? Obviously, since this is a new camera, the last thing I want to do is scratch the LCD screen.

Also, I saw that they have LCD protective overlays for the 5D. Seems like a good idea because over-cleaning the screen seems like a bad idea. But there is an overlay, I'd be a little less concerned.

Just wipe off the screen with any cloth.

Canon actually builds clear, protective covers into the LCD units for their DSLRs. You can remove the cover with a strong suction cup, and you can buy a replacement cover for only around ten bucks. The covers themselves are reasonably scratch-resistant, by all accounts.

I just breathe on it and wipe it with a micro-fiber cleaning cloth (or my t-shirt if a micro-fiber cloth isn't handy). The Canon LCD screens are actually pretty tough.
