Class 10 16GB cards: Transcend versus SanDisk

I've only used my Transcend. I've only shot this with it:

Using C Settings, I never encountered any problems. It froze up once, and I simply pressed record again, and it worked fine. So far, I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah, thanks. But my point is to know if isn't SanDisk speed overkill?

I'd like to know if is Transcend Class 10 enough for highest GH13 bitrates?

Good question... I am also wondering if is there any that Sandisk can perform and the Transcend not?

Has anyone noticed important differences? If so, only speed?

i had writting error with my transcend class 10 in C setting with "complex" scene that contain a lot of grass and flower. I just can record 10sec before Gh13 stop and freeze... (max bitrate 45mb/s) Obliged to fill out the battery... but after gh13 work again :)
With the setting of EosHd everything work fine with Transcend class 10 but bitrate is around 32-37mb/s...

Nice shots,
Man is the air quality really that bad in LA ,wow that is scary....
I have only been in the winter and it was fine then

In mu comparison of the cards the Sandisk is at least 75% faster but it is relevent only at the highest hack speeds which can be unstable for other reasons ...It is also very possible that the in camera buffer cannot keep up with the highest hack speeds so the write to the card may be moot

When it comes to AVCHD I think you're exactly right. It's virtually impossible to get higher than 48Mbs or so reliably. Clearly all class 10 cards are capable of more than that - especially the Sandisk (which is capable of 4x that). We have reached a point of diminishing returns where doubling the speed only offers a slight improvement.

With MJPEG I think it's a little different. MJPEG is a much simpler compression scheme and thus requires less processing power - therefore leaving more processing resources available for writing to memory. I've noticed that people actually do get a substantial boost in performance with Sandisk vs. Transcend when using MJPEG mode.
