Clash of the Titans

I don't know, for a film called Clash of the Titans I was expecting something well, more titanic. Most of it is just a bunch of guys running around wielding swords; nothing we haven't seen before.

Huy...you saw the original 1981 film....right?

I haven't, but then I guess I'm not approaching this from that perspective. As a regular viewer I'm not too impress, it just looks like Scorpion King or some similar story being rehashed. If they're remaking it then presumably they would want to pull in newer, younger viewers as well; nowaday the standard for these action epics are pretty high and just based on the trailer I'm not sure that the film really delivers. Lacks that "awe" factor to it. I saw the trailer for Prince of Persia last week and that one impressed me far more than this.

My nostalgia for all things Harryhausen is going to make it tough to sit through the literally rendered digital beasties...

The stop motion in the first was awesome. This may take some getting used to as Harris said. But Trailer 2 made me much more interested in seeing it.

sidenote: Does Sam Worthington do anything else but blockbusters? Terminator Salvaltion, Avatar and this. I think he's pretty good actually.

As good as the stop motion was for its time I'm glad to see this getting remade, updated, what have you. They seem to be treating it with the right elements of adventure and action that make this kind of film successful without being hokey, so I'm sure it's going to be a fun romp.

About time this was done. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing.

If they let me down... I'll summon... THE KRAKEN!

glad this thread is coming back to life...as a child of the 80s and fan of the original (and i'm typically not a fan of mythology/fantasy films), i'm loving how this movie it looking...Richard and Rodney, glad to see you both in this thread.

I absolutely love the Kraken. THAT sizable behemoth, that monstrosity really makes you feel the sheer awesomeness of it. Not the previous one.

that's not a Kraken...

THIS is a Kraken:

The original COTT was a movie that absolutely amazed me as a kid so I'll for sure check this out. They better have the whole range of titans in there.

So looking forward to this movie. A fan of the 80s version, I was excited to see they are updating it. I think the trailer looks amazing, have it saved to my computer and watch it a couple times a day. 2010 looks like a good year for movies.
