CitiDISK HD is coming

If you check out the website info you'll see that it only captures standard dv, and archives hd.

thats a good catch... i read (or saw) it as HD! now it looks less attractive :embarasse

Anyway, just curious... did they ever get the DV version working right? I remember when they announced that, were plagued with problems for months, and then sort of faded out of sight... anyone have a positive experience?

Also a Japanese company is bringing out something similar, but word I hear in Japan is prices on these will come down a little in about April.

I just sent Barry a quickstream to test the offloading stuff.. both the Citidisk and Quickstream had very severe issues in the DV flavours. Lots of reports of lost footage, corrupt files etc. hopefully they made right.

just talked to the bebob people here in Europe. They offer a voltage converter for cameras like the Z1 that might do the trick to get juice for an external HD from the cam's own power supply. We will see what we can do as soon as we have a HVX available over here.
