"Circles"

Indeed. I'm all about the randomizing. Although I'd prefer to call it circular planning..
Feel free to kick my ass for that one later!

Beware of foreigners with flowers

Beware of foreigners with flowers

This is what happens when your lead actor bails the night before the shoot. Producers step up.

And the plot thickens..

And the plot thickens..

Really like this shot. Momentous, (if somewhat fateful), decision.

Some more shots from circles

Some more shots from circles

For the less keen eyed observer. Look for a ring.

Visually this film was phenomenal! Soft, but intentionally. I didn't feel a connection with the music, and in some instance felt pulled from the story. I think a much darker tone would have foreshadowed the ending a little more, and even showed the ring to be almost like a bad omen that was leading us from person to person before revealing it's true evil. Because frankly, that ring was our star in this.

On the whole, I'm not letting the music take away from a good film, so you're still getting good marks from me. :)

I wanted to hear dialogue with this one. I thought looked great and all of the women were beautiful I just wanted to hear them speak. Other than that I enjoyed it. awesome film.

From the outset we intended to have no dialogue. Intentional but perhaps, looking back, we had a little too much talking without the sounds. Thanks for the feedback so far, proving to be really useful. By the way really loved the split screen start to the CharlYie factor, also loved the scenes with the 2nd hitman. Really enjoyed it!

I really liked the silent nature of the film. I thought that worked really well. While I had a good idea of where the circle was leading, I didn't expect the finale.

Well done.

Wife said that it was one of her faves, but wanted to know why the guy who killed himself didn't say something to the dude in the glasses, if he had a picture of him with his girlfriend on his iPhone?

This was a challenging idea and the story was excellent. The camera-work was great and I thought that the idea of no dialogue worked very well. Good film - and very stylishly done.

My critique for Circles
The story:
Very creative! I really liked the trip you took us through with this movie. Amazing how powerful good writing is!

The acting:
Everyone did superb!

The camerawork:
Loved a lot of the tights and inserts! That over the top shot from the table was great! I also really liked the last shot.

The editing:
Quick and to the point... told the story very effectively. I liked the small text you had at different scenes.

The sound and music:
I liked that it was silence and understood everything! The music was very cool where it changes up at every dramatic point.

Overall impression:
Very good! Clever.. witty.

My favorite shot:

Great film! I thought you did an excellent job of telling the story visually with no sound other than the music. My only main critique would be that we see too much talking. That becomes distracting and you start to wonder what's actually being said. I also felt the music was good overall, but at times didn't feel right for the film.

As far as small details go, I thought it odd that the man was shaking the flowers in the opening shots. Seemed to be trying too hard to get us to notice he was there with flowers for the woman. Then when the other man finds the ring by his car, it seemed like the ring was too far away and behind him for him to possibly notice it was there in the first place. But that's me looking for things.

I thought it was well done with some great shots, especially the end. Good work!

Wow, I was very impressed with this film. Very well done. You took a simple, but solid, story and shook it up with a unique point of view. And on top of that you put a great style, not only the disjointedness from the framerate but you managed a great soft, dreamy look as well.

My only issues are both minor – during the one scene with a large number of fade through blacks, I found those working with the stuttery style a little hard on the eyes. And the occasional solid tones in the music were a little hard on my ears. But overall, this was exceptionally well done. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
