Cinevate or fotodiox Nikon Adapter

I've been researching the Nikon adapter question. There was a great post about 2 months ago on this subject. Now that the dust has settle a bit, what have your experiences been with the Cinevate and the Fotodiox Nikon Adapter?

I'm thinking of getting getting the Cinevate because they have just 1 option (less thinking) and it's a good price.

Any issues with Cinevate with Focus or function?

I've read good things about the Fotodiox, but there are quite a few option. Which one is the most recommended. Probably something mid-range in price, unless the inexpensive ones are good.

Basically the consensus on these seems to be: if you have a TON of lenses and really want to swap the adapter between them all the time, get the nicest titanium adapter you can get. You get what you pay for.

If, on the other hand you just have a few lenses, and are on a budget, you'd be much better off with the cheapest ebay adapters you can find, but buy one for ever lens. They're a pain to get off of the lens and the adapter to lens mount is always hard to set properly, but once it's on, it's on, and at the end of the day they get the job done.

lots about this at cinema 5D

i have received cinevate nikon-canon adapter but i'm not very satisfied.only one is in good condition but the others two seems "second hands" with bad finishing and some rust on the screws.
i 'm very surpriced becouse i have read a lot of good things about their products.
i hope that this was an error.

I am not a pro photographer, only used DSLRs some...so...salt lick block attached.

This Fotodiox adapter came today:

Nice metal piece, snapped onto lens my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 very sturdily and went right onto my 7D like any other lens. Pictures look great. Nothing to complain about as of right now.

Obviously the camera doesn't know a lens is attached since this one doesn't let the lens communicate with the camera, but as a newbie I just say "ok" and am taking pictures, able to adjust iris on the lens.

Shin, if there are any issues with the mounts, please send a pic of them to sales@cinevate.com and we'll replace. Alternatively, just call us at 647 723 2664. There should be zero probability of water exposure so I'm pretty surprised to read your post. The mounts are plated brass which are much harder than aluminum, and are immune to corrosion.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Last week I bought the Fotodiox Nikon F adapter to use an old 50mm 1.4 Nikon lens with my 7d and it works great. All metal, seems sturdy, and no problems with the images. I'd much rather buy one of these for each lens than buy one expensive one and have to keep swapping it on other lenses.
