GH2 Ciecio adapter

Guys,
I got the adapter and ordered a lens on Ebay. The FD lens I bought has the silver ring and it works fine.

I went to the camera shop today and almost walked out with an FD 28mm. This lens, so I am told, is the subsequent FD mount with the black ring and push button on the backside. for whatever reason, we could not get the adapter to work. I thought we had to trigger one of the slides on the back, locking it open to make it work and on that style, it wasn't possible.

Anyone have any insight?

Hi, I have he same adapter and lens (actually, 50mm - but same 'New FD' mount)

Not quite sure what's going wrong - but it should work perfectly.

Sometimes, when mounting the adaptor, you have to be sure to engage the protruding lever on the lens with the machined protrusion inside the adapter - the lever has to be pushed forward as the adapter mounts, then allowed to return as the adapter locks on in the reverse direction.

I find it best to start engaging the adapter about midway between the red dots.

Take it easy, never force anything, and it should all be OK - the adapter is by far one of the better ones available.

BTW - your 'FD' with the silver ring sounds more like an older 'FL' - both will fit.

Yes, I have the video from Ebay. Thanks

I didn't have it at the shop when buying the lens. For some reason, I thought one of the levers had to be locked forward, in place, prior to mounting. I wonder if it was from a previous video. That would not work on the lens in question. Of course, I and the tech were smart enough to line up the dots but in the end, neither of us could get that series to work.

Perhaps I need to get one home and spend more time with it and the video in front of me.
