The label just posted Chris Cornell's new video "No Such Thing" exclusively on YouTube.

I was the second unit DP with my HVX, 1st Unit was Super 16mm. About a half dozen of the HVX shots made the final cut. YouTube is the only place footage can be posted right now, but here are a couple of stills from the HVX footy...

This stills are straight from the camera with no color correction or tweeking other than scaling them in photoshop.

As soon as the production company says it's cool, I'll post some HD footage.

As for settings as best I can remember,
CineGamma
CineLike D
Gain: +6db
Chroma: -4
Color Temp: -4
Ped: -15

Everything else is at Zero.

This is a case where the HVX got me the credit. I was hired on as Gaffer and C camera operator for the video (we had 5 16mm cameras from Arri SRIII High Speed to Bolex). The HVX was requested so we could preview some frame rates on set, but after the first days shooting, Ferny and Anonda (Dir. and DP) liked the footage from the HVX so much that they bumped me up to 2nd Unit DP and I ended up shooting almost an hour worth of 720 footage by the end of day 2. It was a great shoot, with a fantastic crew, most of which have known each other since childhood. It was a real honor to be invited into the family.

AWESOME!

I'm a huge Chris Cornell/SG fan. I would have been FLOORED to do that too!

Congrats!

Can't wait to see the full rez version.

I've posted the full res clip of the fire breather as a DVCPro Quicktime (15 Mb) and a h264 Quicktime (7.5 Mb). Please right click and save. The DVCPro clip is 960x720 so it may play squished unless you load it into Final Cut. The h264 is expanded out to 1280x720. And just for fun, there is an angle of the bottle break (26 Mb) that isn't in the released video, it's a little brutal, so it might not be good to play for your 4 year old.

Something I forgot to mention in the settings, all of the HVX footage was with 45 degree shutter, including these clips.

Enjoy.
