Choosing from Firestore Drive & 16GB P2 card

I was wondering if any of you guys can help me with this. Firestore drive simply sounds great because it can hold more footage at once than a P2 card but at the same time they say Firestore fails to capture true 24p/24pN through firewire. Is it true or not?

It has nothing to do with the Firestore. The HVX does not output native via firewire. To capture with pulldown removed on FS-100, simply select one of the native modes on the FS-100 and it will remove the pulldown on the fly.

Maybe your decision could be mitigated by the fact that you can get a Firestore now and the 16 gb cards have not been released and then are on back-order.

The practical effect of the Firestore with v.3 of the firmware is that it does capture 720.24pNative equivalent out of the firewire port.

It removes redundant frames on the fly, and it results in "true 24p/24pN."

Thanks guys. Thats a relief. I'm actually more inclind towards Firestore 80GB that is like $1450.

The only firestore that will work with the HVX200 (in HD) is the FS-100. The other ones will only support DV mode, so you don't want those; an HVX owner should only be looking at the FS-100.
