CHECK TO SEE IF THE LENS IS FITTED CORRECTLY .That is what came up in my lcd while out yesterday, My 14-140 has not been removed since i have had the GH2, i could tell the lens was correctly on but i removed and refitted it anyway, any ideas what could cause this.
Film/ moisture build up on the contacts, the seal isn't weatherproof and depending on what sort of environments you take your camera into, they can get dirty. Going from hot to cold is a good one for this, smokey and dusty areas don't help. Just reattaching the lens cleans the contacts. I've had this happen to all my SLRs.
cheers, i have only had mine a week and it was a nice sunny day yesteday and i have never seen it before on other dslrs, thanks for that it seems there is no problem then.
Try taking a pencil eraser to the lens contacts, and even gently on the camera-side contacts. It might be all in my head, but it magically seems to work. The lens mounts on both my GH1's (using the several Lumix lenses I have) are all really sloppy. If you twist the lens back and forth (without unlocking it from the mount) the error will usually clear itself. That doesn't make me happy, but considering how extremely DIRT cheap the GH1/GH2 is compared to other prosumer camcorders, and that there are no video DSLR cameras in it's class, I guess I shouldn't complain.
