Check out my DVX Case

Re: Check out my DVX Case

i had the guys at hardig do it for me.

they custom fit cases for hollywood, the air force and when you go in to their custom outfitting shop you always see some interesting cases.

a lot of their customer jobs are so big they look like they could hold a medium sized missle or a small jet engine.

the company is www.hardig.com

they are famous for their tradition large cases but their new line is called the stormcase and it is like a pelican but i have both pelicans and hardigs and i would definitely say they improved upon the pelican, the latches are better and there are just a lot of little things that they have made small changes to.

Hey Oz, your rig is kinda similar to how my Pelican is laid out:

That's a nice looking case. Does it come with the foam already cut out like that?

Re: Check out my DVX Case

Matthew,

How well does that mic cover keep the wind out?

Re: Check out my DVX Case

wind? what wind?

i was in key west with a serious headwind and you couldn't hear a thing!

i got that dead rat with a package deal sennheiser me-66, k6 power and rycote rat.

its probably overkill but i love it.

to the guy using the panasonic mic bracket, don't you hear the zoom noise when you zoom in/out?

when i tried the on camera bracket (not the hot shoe) in a quiet room i could hear every little noise carried through the camera body to the mic.

i wish i could use the on camera bracket to keep things a little bit simpler and save the shoe for the mini frezzi.

Re: Scheevie and cavision 4x4

Hey Scheevie,
I am about to get the cavision 4x4 as well. Is yours the hard or the bellows version? and more importantly do you get vignetting at full wide? Jarred Land did a review that showed alot of vignetting with
the bellows which really turned me off it.

Re: Check out my DVX Case

i like soft cases, i have almost half a dozen of the hardig hard cases and they are great for airline flights or if you need to take everything you own that is related to doing a shoot, but for regular daily stuff i use my porta brace bag.

i need to get the new dv organizer that the just came out with because even before the chrosziel matte box my main bag dv-cr4 i think its called, was way too full.

i need one big enough to hold my matte box without having to take it off.

i don't mind breaking down the camera (taking off mic and matte box) at the end of the day, but if i'm going from one location to another, or if i'm using it again the next day, or might want to grab it out of the car and just start shooting i have GOT to get something where i can just reach into the bag.

for the panasonic mic, if you want a good wind blocker best bet is to call b&h or evs and tell them what mic you have and see what they suggest and then look at the pictures online.
