Hey there guys,

Looking for some prime lenses for video work.
They have to be rather cheap and there has to be the possibility, that I can use a follow focus on it.

I was looking at a focal length of 50mm, 24 or 28mm.

What do you reccomend?

Are the Sigmas better than the Canons? Where can I get em cheap?

Phil

well, the nikons can easily be adapted to be used on EOS cameras.
I would highly recommend them, I have a full set I have cineivised myself.

I have a killer set of primes (Nikon with Canon adapters) for sale. All have film pitch gears and matching 77mm fronts.

Here is are photos of the lenses. All are for sale including the Pelican case except the 18mm...that one I am keeping.

Did u cinivised them yourself or you sent it to RPLens and alike shops?

I did them myself. I will post some pictures at some point.

Basically I de-clicked the aperture, added a focus gear, and used step-up rings to adapt all the fronts to 72mm so I can use one set of filters.

Could you tell me where you got em and what you paid? Please PM me if possible!

i got them from keh.com
the set consists of:
24/2.8
35/2
50/1.4 (i had this one already and it is a pentax smc, amazing lens)
85/2
105/2.5
135/2.8
180/2.8

it ended up being between 1750 and 1800 for the lenses and step up rings and gears and such. (that didn't include the 50, which was about 100 bucks at a local camera store)

if you wanna see them in action, search for "le cygne campus movie fest" on YouTube. i shot that with a T2i and those lenses. i would post a link, but i am on my mobile phone.

So, in the top end I dont need the 105, 135, 180 for now. Cheers, found a couple of nice lenses... 800 dollars!

yeah, if you just go with three i would say go for a 28, 50 and 85.

well, i am pretty handy and have some experience repairing equipment (speakers, cables, lenses, cameras). so it wasn't that big of deal for me. if you are completely comfortable taking off the back of your lens, i wouldn't declick the aperture. the filter and focus gears are pretty easy though.
