HVX200+LetusEX+ 28mm+Zaccuto Rails - Music Video

how did they hold your rig like that?

just kidding.
Obviously you were standing in front of them walking backwards.

but it looks SOO good. wow.

Scene file settings?

Did you shoot 720 or 1080?
Did you do color corrections?

I'm just starting out and Id love to get some tips

and how did the shots where there are slowmo lip syncs panning over to real time stuff?

since the camera can't do in-camera speed ramping

Just cut on the whip pan.. that's all.

Nothing fancy... had to turn it in a day after I got back from Portland.

I'll post photos of the rig in a bit.

or did you have an A.C.

(for when you whip panned and focused on more distant people)

um aside from the video being really good, I've never seen Vimeo quality that good.

PLEASE share your export settings..we're all friends here

Hey that looked really great and it's always inspiring when someone takes a great zero dollars idea and makes something really watchable.

It was very well done. Did you pull all your own focus?

I bet there was not much focused to be pulled. The people holding on to the camera were at a more or less constant distance. When he panned over to people, since that was done on a cut he could preset the focus.

In other words, get you focus set on the middle aged couple, pan away from them, start the music, and pan onto them in their static point with your preset focus.

....

Very nice wok. I have a conceptual question about the song, though.

Is it Christian Rock - "kingdoms will topple at the sound of your name" (paraphrase) etc. and "that's why he came" (paraphrase) etc.?

If I'm not off base on that then it seems slightly off to sing to the viewer? No?

It's a little confused though, because like a lot of pop music, the perspective seems to shift - from "he" to "you" etc.

Again, great simple idea executed well. I watched all the way through.

Yes, your right.. no focus pulling.

What I did for the slow mo was to step into a focus mark.... like with the older couple.

As for singing to the viewer with Christian lyrics like those... my feeling is that taking the cleche route of clenching your fists and singing to the heavens is really cheezy... Cheezy but visually more clear.

Yes it's confusing, but that I did was the best choice for me.

Yeah, I kind of understand what Jack's saying... though I also see the artistic choice in what you did.

Well done video though! And great song too!

Let me 2nd this...

Great concept, perfectly executed!
Refreshing indeed.

Vimeo Setting

Honestly.. It's just a quicktime but I tried to keep the file as close to the 500meg they allow you.

My guess was that it would compress it the least.... again... a guess.
