Cheapest camera for playing back Xh-A1 footage?

My firewire jack on my XH-A1 is broken. I need to edit footage asap and have a shoot on Wednesday. I need A camera/deck that can transfer the 30p footage to computer via firewire. What is the cheapest solution out there?

Even an inexpensive component card would work. I don't know what is out there now.

As far as cameras go, you have to have the HV30 to playback 30F. The HV20 will only do 24F or 60i

I second that.

The HV30 is probably your best bet. Plus then you'll have a nice camera for B roll footage.

I would opt for the second camera.

1) you have a great b-roll camera
2) you have a backup
3) you don't lose computer-controlled logging
4) Component is still analogue, right? So you'd go from digital to analogue back to digital. Would that give you better results?

I use a secondhand HV10 for this purpose. Works fine, cheap to buy, useable emergency backup

The deck needs to have 30f support. The HV30 is the first one to add it.
