U3X Longbow Upgraded for DSLR Cameras

I saw on ebay that the U3x stabilizer was upgraded for DSLR cameras. They call it the Longbow-DSLR. Seems like they changed the shape of the spar and an added a side-to-side adjustment head to allow you to center the camera. They claim it can be moved up to 6 inches side to side. Any one have one of the new ones?

Man there are too many options.

Between the U3X, the flycam Nano, the smoothmount and the hague, which steadicam alternative would most people go with?

I've just checked their website. Does anyone know if eemov's available in North America?

It seems that they have a webshop for the USA already here: eemov-usa.com.
I have just ordered a Sobercam Hawk kit with a KATA trolley bag and a small phone stabilizer (NANO) for my iPhone. :-)

Hi,

sorry 'bout the delayed reply.
The steady is really cool, it works smoothly. Also the bag is really useful when moving the gear.
If I'd buy it again I wouldn't chose the XT version: unfortunatelly I do not use the V-lock mount too often since I have a control monitor with its own battery.

Weight is essential when balancing: the more weight you add the smoother it flies. There are 6 big counterweights in the package which in case be mounted on the top of the sled in case of a lighter camera. So you can use it with a wide range of cameras from 500 gramms to approx. 5 kilogramms. I've ordered an extra weight set to maximize the weight. Now I can use it even with a Canon 600D (which is a very light camera).

Cams can be easily attached to the sled's cheeseplate but a quick release adapter is an essential extra to buy. I myself use a Manfrotto 357 which is

I have just checked the webshop and it seems that they do not sell the this bundle anymore - they offer Petrol bags instead of Kata.

There are a few more speciel offers here: http://steadyshop.com/camera-stabilizer-systems-c-21_22.html?language=en&currency=EUR
Funny thing is that the monitor they offer now is the same as mine - only the brand is different... ;-) Cheap chinese one but works well.

If you have any specific question(s) please just ask. I'll be back regulary
