cheap rig / follow focus system

hey gang

i just got myself that fine gh1
now scouring for some c-mount and fd lenses

is there anywhere to get a cheap and useable follow focus system
everything i have seen is ridiculously expensive
i mean thats just two cogwheels and a big knob
theres gotta be some cheaper stuff out there

Check ebay for PROAIM follow focus systems. I haven't heard jack from Tim at Indifocus so I'm thinking for a cheap and dirty temp solution the PROAIM FF might work. I don't expect it to last but I might be surprised. It's about $300. Oh yeah, and it comes with 6 lens gears and a 15" whip.
 
That's not a very encouraging sign.
I actually mailed the people at DV Accessory or whatever the company is called just to inquire about the FF unit and still haven't got a response...I think this is what seems to be lacking in this industry (and not just this industry). It is near impossible to get people to respond...even AFTER I have put money down (are you listening Redrock?). Now, I know that a lot of these operations are small to micro but what burns my bananas is lack of communication (I would say I am not the only one). I might just be spolied because service in this country is second to none.
Wait, I hijacked this thread...sorry...sounds like the PROAIM stuff is something to be wary of...although I did read somewhere here that it was functional; if not impressive.
The IndifocusPro FF seems a little cobbled together for my liking. As a prototype it looks acceptable but not sure how sturdy it is (says the guy looking at the PROAIM :) )
 
Just got a mail from the DV Accessory people. They said that they have had no complaints so I pasted that link that Martti put up just to let them know they might be fooling themselves. I also mentioned that they should try and get involved a little in communities like this so they could enhance their product with the wealth of knowledge and expertise on offer and interact with their customers more. Who knows what the response will be...I also ordered a FF with the explicit message that I would be doing a write up on here when I'm done with it...so fingers and toes crossed....NO POS, NO POS!, NO POS!!! Please.
