I’m a student filmmaker and recently purchased a HVX200 and have not been happier with my purchase. After reading the forums and waiting for adobe to get their act together with mxf compatibility is there a cheap way or to convert mxf to avi without using aspect hd $500 or raylight $200 or dvrack 2 hd $500/$160 with student discount?
Can I use virtualdub or tmpgenc somehow? Or anything else?
I am really considering getting dv rack because I can get it cheaper but I want to see that it enables premier to import mxf files. Their trial doesn’t allow you to try the hd compatibilities.
So does dv rack give me the compatibility I need for premier support of mxf (straight import with no conversion)?
Is it possible to not spend any more than I have to so I can get by till adobe incorporates it like it will?
