I was just wondering if anybody owns the Habbycam SD shoulder support.

It looks like it may fit all of my needs, and I have watched a couple reviews on it. As of right now I was just wondering if anyone actually has one, or has any advice on this product.

$250

My gear is as follows.

t2i
battery grip
sigma f2.8 18-50mm
sigma f2.8 24-70
LCDVF
rode video mic

i we have a dedicated sound recordist so I don't need to mount a zoom h4n or anything like that. I would probably mount some weights on the back of the unit.

If someone has this pls give me any info or possible problems you've come across.

I'm a little worried about the LCDVF and how its gonna line up with my eye. anyway, thank you in advanced.

I bought one of the Habbycam rigs and was pleasantly surprised by the product. The material quality is very good. I can use it with my 7D and my HMC150. The shoulder piece comes pre-drilled with 1/4 inch threaded holes so you can hang a bunch of stuff off the front, top or back of it. I installed a 5 lb counter weight on the back with some Home Depot pieces and the whole rig will now sit on my shoulder by itelf with no hands.

So far, I'm very happy.

Yeah, I think im going to buy the Habbycam.

You see, the "Adorama "hands Free" camercorder support bracket" is not the same deal. I film music doc stuff. a lot of following people around, walking. I feel the Adorama would also move when breathing.

Done. Thanks

Just read the LCDVF portion of your post. I have one on my 7D too- it aligned pretty well, but the camera has to be mounted with a slight cant to the right of the line of the rig to line the eyepiece up with your eye. It's a minor issue, and could just be my ignorance in the adjustment possibilities, but it was a slight issue.

I'd like to ask you one more question, if you don't mind.
Using the LCDVF with Habbycam SD Brace, do you find the positioning of the handle odd, or awkward? Since its attached to the camera mount - with the lcdvf you must need to position it closer to your face - therefore the handle comes with it.

Does it feel way to close to your body? Thanks again for the info on this

Well, the handle is adjustable fore and aft and I never had a problem with it. Obviously the camera distance from your eye is adjustable on the same "rails". So you have the shoulder part which is fixed, then the mini-rail system is adjustable up and down so the camera and handle move up and down (and slightly closer to you as it goes up). Then that portion relative to the shoulder part is adjustable side to side (pan).

Hope that answers your q.

That does answer my questions. Thank you very much.
You know, after doing some last minute research, I decided to buy the Indisystems UltraCompact unit.

James,

I wondered if you might offer some feedback on the Indisystem's ultra compact unit. Any photo's of your entire rig? I purchased the IndiSlider last year, and it has proved to be a great product. I'm in the market for a complete rig with follow focus, LCD screen, and Matte Box for my Canon t2i, and there are TOO many choices! The price seems right on the Indi System unit, but just want to talk to someone who is using it in the field...

Any input you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks!
