Charred Walls of the Damned music video, "Ghost Town"

Shot it with the 7D, Canon 28-105L, Nikon primes (35, 50,85,105, 135). Glidecam 4000HD, edited in Final cut, with Tiffen DFX and Sapphire filters.

Yeah, the posting of the video is kinda out of my hands. The record label is handling all that stuff. I did suggest posting an HD version, so hopefully they'll do it.

Nice, I didn't know this was 7d. I saw this after they mentioned it on the show and now here it is on dvxuser, it would definitely help to see it in HD. Richard is the man.

Yeah, Richard's a good friend of mine through the show. We had one day to shoot and less than $1000 for a budget. If the record sells well, we'll have more cash for another video. I'm sure I'll use the 7D for that also.

All shot in PA. Mostly at one of Richard's favorite Halloween spots, Shocktoberfest. They had everything we needed.

I wonder if gas mask manufactures take into account heavy metal music videos when they talk about their market demographics, because honestly I bet they make 90% of their revenue from them.

Though realistically it goes mostly to surplus stores, so the talks are more about reaching the metal demographic directly cutting out the middle man to maximize profits. But if they ever did that all of a sudden gas masks wouldn't be metal because they're no longer symbols being co-opted by renegade musicians.

What would be your second choice symbol of military industrial complex-era oppression/hubris if that were to happen?

I've honestly tried to think of even a crappy second choice and I couldn't, there really isn't a better practical era specific apparatus that sums up the negative aspects of the 20th and 21st century more then the gas mask, at least one that people wear.

Questions, comments? Wanna talk about the weather?

Excellent work. Very evocative, especially if you're into dystopia. I, too, like the video in the eye-plates of the gas mask. And the speed guitar, awesome ability.

How do you like Sapphire? Am trying to decide between that CoreMelt and the FXFactory package.

You're up over 38K views now. Congrats!

The weather sucked her in New England all winter. Since you asked.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Actually, the video runs on an American and a European YouTube page, so in total, about 65,000 views, plus a bunch more from other sites. It's pretty exciting.

I love Sapphire and would definitely recommend it. I would also recommend the Tiffen DFX package as well. I'm not familiar with CoreMelt and FXFactory, but I'll check them out.
