Charging HVX and FS batteries in a car

I need to be able to charge my HVX and FS-100 batteries in my car while shooting this weekend. What do I need to get to do this?

Many thanks!

Do you know what wattage I should get?

The HVX battery charger is 25 watts, so a 140 watt inverter ($35. or so) would be fine for both chargers.

And you could skip a surge protector since the inverter has the capability of using voltage in the range that a car's charging system would provide.

As to the HVX200, you need to charge the charging cradle and battery, not the HVX200.

As to the FS-100 battery, again you are plugging it into the inverter.

Wouldn't they be 100 watts minimum?

The OP said "charge" the batteries. Both the HVX200 and the FireStore each have batteries.

The HVX battery charger is an 11 watt device when charging a battery and the FireStore battery will need 18 watts, so really a 30 or 40 watt inverter would work, but a 100 or 140 watt inverter would be better since they're so cheap anyway.

if you are going to get a power inverter for you car then I'd get a 300-400 watt one. this way you can power light in case you ever need it. If you have a truck with a big engine and battery, maybe even a 1000 watt inverter.

Also, the DOLGIN chargers seem to be great. I don't own one but I'll get one when i can afford one. :)

i have a 140w cheapie and it charges batts and powers laptop no prob. will also power car kino's as well as incandescents in china balls.
