C300: Changing internal battery?

I need to change the internal battery and can't figure out how to do it and the manual is no help.

Do I need to send it back to Canon to have it done?

Thanks

I Think the internal battery is rechargeable and you need to keep the main battery on the body to charge it.
If the body is left without a battery attached for longer than a month the internal battery will totally discharge .

I don't know if its user replaceable

I've tried recharging it twice without luck.

On the MK2 it';s a lot easier to change.

In the user manual, page 150 it says;

Built-in rechargeable lithium battery
The camcorder has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery to keep the date/time and other settings. The built-in lithium battery is recharged while you use the camcorder; however, it will discharge completely if you do not use the camcorder for about 3 months.
To recharge the built-in lithium battery: connect the DC cable and compact power adapter to the camcorder and use a household power outlet to power the camcorder for 24 hours while it is turned off.

maybe you'll have to use the power adapter???

Yep, used the power adapter. Think the internal battery is dead.

Will drop it off to Canon tomorrow morning and see what they say.

My C300 internal battery is getting old, it seems.

Angelis, or anyone, any more insight on how to change the internal battery, if it's something a local shop can fix, or if it needs to go to a Canon service center?

Thanks!

ps- The Google wasn't much help for this one. :-( Help me Obi-Wan DVXUSER
