C300: Cf card corruption?

Apologies if this has already been posted but i cannot find a thread specific to deal with this issue.

Canon C300 - Sandisk extreme 32gb card. Formatted in camera, filmed my cat for ten minutes. put card into card reader on mac, opened canon XF utility software found the footage no problem, accidentally clicked the "add shot mark button" below
Screen Shot 2013-06-27 at 19.10.47.png

after a 30 second crash an error message came on screen saying card removed to quick when i didnt even move the card reader, now my canon c300 doesnt recognise the card in the camera, on a mac or windows. Ive tried tonnes of reclaiming software (not that im bothered about saving the footage) but cant seem to fix the card to show up. I cant even reformat on the computer as it isnt recognised anywhere even in the disk utility. The camera just says error on CF card.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before?? Would certainly help as other wise ive got to go through weeks of sending it off and waiting for a reply.

Thanks in advance for any useful advice or links with helpful info.

Hi - I have had two cards from my C300 corrupted and one from my XF300 corrupted. With the C300 it happened after passing the cards to the post house (I always ask clients to bring relevant hardware so we can do transfers onsite, but this time client forgot Mac..) So as I wasn't 'at the scene of the crime' I wasn't able to find out precisely what happened. One card was recoverable but the other card lost all data - sods law that this was the one with 90% of the rushes. Ruined a day's shoot. The XF300 CF card corruption happened in my presence - shooting for CNN, after which I handed card to reporter to transfer to Mac. It was during transfer that thing went wrong. It seemed like a dodgy USB lead caused the problem. Some files got corrupted and I had a tough work-around to recover the footage, but at least I managed to do so. After which I did some research and discovered that its possible to corrupt a CF card when READING from it. Thus I can only assume that this is what happened. The USB lead was definitely faulty, which caused a break in the connection whilst reading from it, and that in turn, I assume, caused the corruption... So one suggestion is that - perhaps your pressing the 'add shot mark' button is a red herring? Perhaps instead you had a slightly poor connection which caused the corruption? Just a thought.

Dual record, guys - it will save your butt every time. Unless you're shooting ridiculously long takes with no cuts, there's no reason not to.
