I'm pretty sure there's not a way to do this in camera, but thought i'd double check before I resort to doing it in Final Cut Pro.
I'm shooting for a client this weekend that wants slow mo 4:3 SD footage. So I'll shoot 720 24pn to get the variable frame rates. Is there a way to dub a center extracted 4:3 frame to tape either in the dub to tape function, or by playing out the s-video to another deck? As far as i've been able to figure out, both methods output a letterboxed 4:3 or an anamorphic image.
As I said, if not i'll dump the footage to a 4;3 timeline in fcp, scale and dump out to tape.
thanks, tim
