I work at a video rental store. This guy's been in more than once, but we never actually saw him steal. We only heard him wrapping the items up in tin foil to counteract the alarm. This time the ass wasn't quick enough. I heard the foil, walked out of our game room. Saw him to my left with an item, which he quickly put behind his back. I went up to the assistant manager, and told him. My other co worker called the cops. This is the best part. As the guy was leaving, he asked us about a movie. The assistant manager, said we could look it up online for him, and the guy walked away from the door, and went and talked to the assistant manager about the movies he was looking for. The guy ended up staying an extra 5-7 minutes, while the cops were on their way! The assistant manager couldn't keep him in the whole time, so the guy left. As he was leaving, he heard the cop cars and ran. They caught him in the alley, with the merch, and arrested him. And I guess since he ran from the cops, it made it a felony, and since he brought the foil in, it was premeditated. The officer came into the store, took my statement (as I was the only eye witness). The officer said the guy was a regular to the station.
So that's my good deed for the day.
