Case

I just bought an HX A1 and am trying to find a good case to carry it in. Please let me know the pros and cons of the case you have.

Thanks...

i have a pelican 1600. big enough to carry all my gear, only con is the foam gets pulled out with the camera when you pull it out and annoys me.

i'm trying to put lex, 4 lenses, a1, ikan monitor, charger and some small stuff into 1560.. half way through :) i would have got 1600, but it's wayyyy to big for carrying into the plane, but putting everything into 1560 is a real puzzle :)

I am not sure which pelican case I have (I think it is the 1560). Large enough for my A1, 2 Canon batteries (could fit more if I wanted), a bunch of tapes. I could probably make slots for more equipment, but I don't need to yet.

It is the best camera case I've owned. If you go to their site, it costs about $250.00. I actually got mine at Fry's electronics. As far as I remember it was cheaper than $250.00, so that might be a good place to start if you have one near you.

i bought mine 1560 with foam inside from c2csafety.com ebay store for 135$.

i have to admint, pelican case is the best what i have seen in quality and if i ever buy any case again (i know i will) ! it will be pelican!

I'm a big fan of Pelican, and have several but I didn't need to go waterproof so I got the Petrol PCCB-1N bag. It well made with good room. It holds my shotgun, filters, extra battery, a bunch of tapes and some other stuff with no problem. I can even put the Porta Brace rain cover on top which gives it some extra padding. I think you could carry it on an airplane, but I haven't checked

Thanks for ll the advice.
So many bags - so little time...
I will probably order the Petrol Monday.
Thanks again.

alrighty, so i finished....

This is Pelican 1560 case, in which i managed to put:
- Canon XH A1 + charger + component cable
- Indifocus rails
- Indifocus FF
- Ikan v8000hd monitor + charger, AC adapter + 2 batteries
- Sony shotgun mic
- Letus extreme adapter
- 20mm sigma, 35, 50 mm nikon and 105 mm sigma lenses
- air blower
- there is some space left for small stuff, like tapes

i have to tell, i spent approx 6 hours putting this puzzle, though i managed to
put all the equipment i need for traveling with airplane, so that i could take it with me to the plane.

That looks like the solution I've been looking for. What did you use to cut the holes into the foam?

Rawfa,

Pelican case comes with Pick 'N' Pluck™ foam

All you need is a toothpick and some glue for later. No need to cut with a scissors .

Don't you use to have a Brevis? it comes with the same form type in the pelican case of the brevis.

I am very pleased with my Porta-Brace case. Plenty of room for my XH-A1 and the accessories. My case is model PB-2550F. I has the "pick n pluck" foam and inside a hard shell water-tight case with rollers and extendable handle.
