Hey fellow dvxuser peeps....well im getting my A1 this xmas and wanted to see which case would be perfect to protect my investment. I was thinking of a pelican case but i want something light and easy. what do you guys think?

Hi Danny, I use a Pelican 1510 case and it is perfect. The camera fits nice and snug and I still have a little room to add a wide angle and fish eye when I get them. You could use that extra room for your batteries and charger or whatever. I just am using the Pelican for really fragile stuff, everything else in a little gear bag.

A word of warning: don't bother with the lid organizer thing for the Pelican cases. It seems like a good idea and everything, but I bought one with mine and noticed that when gear is packed into the little pockets on the organizer it places pressure upon the cam in the case. No bueno. I don't even use it anymore.

I got the Petrol PCCB-2N a couple weeks ago and have been pretty happy with it. At first I thought it was too big (I really wanted to be able to use it as a carry-on), but then I started packing in all my accessories and found I have just enough room for everything, and there's room for expansion if I want to pack a 35mm adapter with me. It also came with a mini LCD hood from B&H that's incredibly useful for bright outdoors shooting.

I can get some pictures of it tomorrow if you're interested.

I just ordered the same bag. I thought it was WAY too big, but I was able to pack my XH-A1, Letus Extreme, Canon 30D, 2 lenses, battery charger, tapes, cables, etc.

The strap on it sucks, though. Any ideas on where to buy a better one?

I've got 2 batteries in there (950 and 970), 10 or so tapes, component and a/v cables, remote, battery charger, and the Petrol LCD hood. I could make a few more inches of room if I tilted the A1's viewfinder up when I store it, but if I do that the top of the viewfinder rests right at the top of the bag so I decided to be cautious and keep it flat. All of the dividers are moveable. When I get a 35mm adapter it will go in the space in front of the camera right now (might even be able to keep it attached and on a rails system while still fitting in the bag)

No idea, sorry. I don't think I'll be using the strap a whole lot, but it felt fine to me the few times I used it.

I have the Petrol bag too and I think it's great. It does hold a lot, like two batteries, 6 tapes, Rocker, filter pack, shotgun mic and rain cover. I don't carry my charger and remote because I shoot outside mostly, but I could find holes for that if I needed to.

The interior dividers are configured a bit differently as I have the front of the camera against the outside wall of the case. I figure the hood is stronger than the viewfinder. I have a divider behind the camera body to hold the camera still. Batteries and tapes can go in their. I do wish the dividers were a little taller sometimes, but that might just create other issues.

I think you'll like the bag
