Case for GH2

I am starting to really bond with my GH2 - it's been a couple of weeks but I'm finally starting to get images out of it that are amazing me. So, now I want it with me all the time. :D

How are you carrying yours?

I'd like something with some room for my lenses and their adapters + filters.

I am looking forward to seeing what you use.

I know how you feel -- I carry this camera everywhere :-)

I use a little $13.80 "Panasonic" bag from Hong Kong like this one.

It's small -- only fits the camera body, a "pancake" type lens, a telephoto and a few accessories.

Here's a picture of it with my "poor man's rig". The big lens shade, the "C" bracket and the Sennheisers don't fit in the bag -- but the camera body, 14-140, Zoom H1, recorder mount, furryhead windscreen, Hoodman LCD shade and a Konica 40/1.8 w AR adapter (not pictured) do.

An HD camera, silent autofocus lens, fast manual glass and 24-bit 96kHz sound in a bag the size of a small purse. And because it's so small, it goes everywhere I go.

Hope this is helpful.

I use a Crumpler 3 Million Dollar House. Fits the camera and one small lens + cards. Very lightweight and incognito-

I prefer a bag that does not scream Camera bag. You can find a whole pile of sling bags and tactical bags that take a lot of camera parts and feel secure.

If you, like I did, want the smallest possible bag for outings, the gh2 is pretty awkardly sized. Too big for a small bag, too small to fit well
in a full size camera bag.

What I really wanted was a hard shell fitted case. There isn't one.

read this:

I have tamrac 3365 you see in pic above. It just fits the 14-140.
The lowepro Lowepro Rezo TLZ 20 is a holster and it also just fits the 14-140 .
I have both.

If you have a smaller lens
like the 20mm you can fit in some accessories.

As far as a small outing bag goes, you can't get anything with a smaller footprint, othewse you'd never get it out of the case
with anything bigger than a pancake lens.

That CineBag is really nice, do you think there would be room for a small HD Field monitor in there as well?

I stuff my GH1, 5 Canon FDs, rod rig with follow focus mounted, matte box, 4x4 ND filter kit, Zoom H4, Røde Video Mic, Gorilla pod, shoulder brace, super clamps, charger, audio cables and miscellaneous bits and parts into a CineBag Production bag. Ready to go in one package.

I got THIS ONE from eBay. I love that it's a sling backpack, and it's quite comfortable. In the main pouch it fits the GH2 with a 50mm Canon FD lens attached, a Voigtlander 25mm lens, room for a third lens, and even the Leadstar 10" LCD monitor. The other pockets will hold all the batteries, A/C adapters, and filters with ease. Small, but not too small. And you can't really go wrong for $33.

How were you able to mount the tripod plate to your c-bracket & camera?

Good question. Part of the reason I like this bracket so much is its flexibility. To make it work with my quick release, I had to turn the bottom of the bracket around to extend it. Next, I attached the bracket directly to the bottom of the camera. Then, I attached a Giottos MH621 mounting plate ($34.65 from Amazon). The MH621 was the perfect size. A wider QRA would not have fit.

So the screw that came with that mounting bracket was long enough to go through both the bracket and the mounting plate?
