Card Writing speeds.

Okay I know this might be a dumb question. But does the mb/s your card writes affect the quality of the video? Because I use a sandisk extreme 8gb sd and it writes 30mb/s. I saw some that write 90 mb/s. What does that mean?

In short, no. The data rate coming from the camera is relatively low compared to shooting 11FPS RAW stills, which is where a faster card is better as it gives you a bigger buffer. 30mb/s write speed is absolutely fine for video recording.

When it comes to offloading your cards, a faster card will be slightly better though. 90mb/s might save you a minute or so offloading a 32Gb card

Also, faster cards save you from buffer warnings and stopped recordings. Sometimes you get them still (if you don't format), but they're a lot less.
