i want to stop capturing footage straight from the dvx because it wears out the heads so i was thinking about buying a cheap camera like the panasonic pv gs80 for capturing. Would that reduce the quality of the footage if i do that compared to capturing from the dvx.

o thx. then y do ppl even bother spending like 2000 dollars on a deck when they can just buy a cheap camera for like 200

Decks have ore professional options like multi format and usualy higher quality components. And they look more professional.
