Capturing Issue. Lines like Interlaced Show up

Ive been dying for a dvx for almost two years and i've been using a gl2 in the meantime. I just got a dvx100a last friday and ive been having some issues with capturing and logging and batch capture. First issue.

The videos i capture work fine after edited and exported. But the AVI's come out really stretched when there viewed straight from capture. Also they look like interlaced video there are lines that can be noticed when teh camera pans or theres any shake in it.

Also when i batch capture, using either my gl2 , dvx or a cheap mini dv cam, ive tried all three to batch capture dvx footage, It dosent work right. It would take really long to find the timecode i set as IN after it would capture one it MIGHT capture the next but usually skips it captures the 3rd item. so thats 1 then 3 then usually says batch capture finished ignoring all of the other selected items to be captured.

Please i would appreciate any advice or help.
Oh im using Premiere Pro 1.5

what are you shooting in?

If you're shooting in Progressive 24p or 24pa for example and then you view the captured footage on a computer monitor (those are progressive) you will still see interlacing on the source footage because the dvx records the 24p as interlaced video using pulldown to make it the 24 fps rate.

So what you need to do is create a 24p or 24pa type of project in your post video editor and when you view the target clip (not the source clip) it will not have the interlacing and you can enjoy the 24p.

Is that the case?

PP 1.5 is going to give you problems with 24p standard footage, though not 24pA.

(Assuming you're shooting 24p -- is this a PAL or NTSC camera?)

David i think its the pther way around. 1.5 didnt support 2332 pulldown, but since 24p regular is actually 29.976 its supposed to work with PPro1.5...

Its ntsc. It Shows up fine in post. Just wondering if i should be concerned it shows up with interlaced lines as raw files.
After toying around a little more with it i realized the time code issue was because i was switching between 24pa and 24p like it was no big deal. So i got some new tapes...Stripped them..And batch capture is working fine...

To my dismay i might actually be having to film in 30p since i film a lot of action sports and live events. Kind of feels like i could have kept my gl2 and film in frame mode.
