Capturing in squeeze mode

from their website:

Flip4Mac™ WMV is a collection of QuickTime components that allow you to play, import, and export Windows Media video and audio files on your Mac using your favorite QuickTime-based applications.

Sheesh, you'd think when Jared and I agree you'd believe us

he he, yeah, but you don't agree on much.
Sorry Jack for being a pain but not only am I new on FCP I've also only had a Mac for a month or so. I'm still the newly converted.
I have Flip4mac in my app's but I can't open it so I just assumed it ran in the background taking .WMV and "Flipping for Mac" If it doesn't even open I don't see how I can have any options to "Flip to PC"

Ok, I went to their website. As far as I can tell they're still just an app to convert .WMV to QT,
Anyway, have you seen those prices??? Forget it.

I don't know what's vague about
"export Windows Media"

and yes I've seen their prices. that's how I'm able to offer people the choice of .wmv or QT on my web

And Dooooood. I've been using it for 2 years. It says it exports .wmv in the paragraph I posted, above, it says it on their website, and Jared and I both said it. Come on, man.

Are you new to reading also

kidding ... but come on ... really

I don't want it to seem like I was presenting a totally different approach to your problems than Jack. We were saying the same thing and I agree with virtually everything he said. Maybe I was putting more emphasis on trying to stick with the presets to make it easy on yourself. But it all amounts to the same thing and all of his tips are good. The one thing we might not have agreed on was some piddly little detail about whether it matters to select anamorphic in your capture preset. Don't worry about that, though. Listen to Jack. He knows what he's talking about.

You posted your link when i was posting. The prices aren't so bad. I was looking on the wrong page.

Ok Jack, I got it. $49.00 is a great deal if I can export out of FCP to .WMV.
I'm buying and downloading now. I'll let you guys know how it works.
But, what is this Flip4mac app I have running in the background now?

I haven't had any good acid since I was 17.
I'm now 45.
I miss those days and even though everybody was tripping I still knew what was going on.
This thread like then - I'm still getting a lot out of it.

am i frustrating you jack?
I think I am.
I do thank you for your help and believe me I never thought a 5 page thread would have started out of this.
Anyway, no more questions. I'm still baffled on importing 23.98 squeeze though.

No no don't apologize. I have been editing for 16 hours and I'm loopy and having some fun with you. Sorry.

I also thought I was giving the freshman a swirly, but you ten years older than me.

So sorry ... sir :D

Please feel free to ask more questions. I know what its like to start a whole new app and be overwhelmed with all the information and all their is to read, so I should not give you such a hard time for missing some copy here or there.

Thanks for the break guys.
I'm pretty handy on most of the PC editing programs but I knew in my heart that to get serious I would eventually have to switch to a Mac.
So I did. I've told myself that I'm just going to forget PC but I find myself nipping back to do simple jobs because I find FCP (I was on FCE for the last 2 weeks) and even imovie far out of my PC comprehension.
Obviously they're great programs but I'm like a fish out of water.
Timelines, transitions, audio etc. are pretty much the same but importing/exporting well, as you can see, I'm having a hard time.
