Capturing From P2 On Mac

Hey hows it going, i'm new to the forums and new to apple computers. Now from everything i read in final cut there should be an import p2 setting right? however i don't have that option in my version of final cut. When i plug my camera in it mounts onto the desktop as it goes, but i can't view any of the clips or import anything from my p2 card into final cut...help!! i have a short film that needs to get edited and i can't figure this out at all

ok, don't laugh but i thought when you urchased the hvx, raylight came wiht it free? I thought i read that somewhere... is this true. i did not see it in my p2disc. just curious.
 
It doesn't but it's worth the price.

Raylight/Mac 2.0 is supposed to be coming out soon and you can write back to P2 from FCP. Not sure if the price will increase with 2.0 so if you're interested, it might be a good idea to get 1.07 now.

Yes it is going up to $195 some time next week with release 2.0.
 
in a nut shell, how do i benefit from RL? And will it allow me to capture direct to my HD?
 
What will the upgrade price be for current RL users of the Mac version be?

Raylight/Mac allows you to import directly from the P2 cards or card image on disk without making duplicates in quicktime, and (with 2.0) author a P2 card from FCP. That can all be done while the camera is out shooting.

If you're doing direct capture/mastering to/from the camera over firewire there is no advantage.

Its now Friday night and I've been ICHING all week for this update.... PLEASE release it ;)
