C100: Capturing 60 min presentations w/C100

Any reason to be concerned about shooting a day of presentations with the C100? Longest ones will run at most an hour, but most will be less than that. Will have two 64gb cards, so not concerned about card space, just camera shutting down from heat, hiccups, etc.

I don't see why there would be any issues unless its something like 100 degrees outside in the direct sun - and even then... I shot two 50 minute indoor segments today with no hiccups.

We recorded two days of eighteen hours of talking, no problems, not a one. Was using power adapter to provide power, maxed out audio inputs. A joy to use. Was in dual slot recording mode for redundancy.

Thanks for the info. I've heard of some people having issues with dual recording? Maybe just user or card errors?

I have heard people have had trouble with dual recording but only with certain cards. In small shoots I have had no issues with Sandisk Extreme 45mbs cards

We used Sandisk Ultra 64GB, after trying Sandisk Extreme. Both work, but only on those we got from major retailers, the ones we got from secondary eBay sellers were priced right but probably counterfeit, and failed.

As for heat, had the C100 going for 5 hours outside in 90 degree heat in Costa Rica last week. Worked like a champ. My 7D never would have made it.

Works great! I just did a two camera shoot today 09:00 - 17:30 with two C100s, one on static tripod on power and one on battery on tripod, no problems. Cameras were probably turned off for less than half an hour of that time for lunch (so approx 8 hours shooting) or quickly while changing lenses for various setups on the mobile camera. The mobile camera had the fan on Auto, didn't have any problems with overheating but we were in an airconditioned hall. Also ran the Atomos Ninja 2 on the static camera with a 750gb HDD and it had no problem, except one 3rd party battery didn't work so I fell back to AVCHD footage for the last 3 hours or so (and yes, I had tested it beforehand - @#$%). So I'll need to get a power adapter for that. Otherwise worked perfectly all day.

Also I'll second Yoyodynes post, I've had it out on the beach on the Gold Coast (Australia) approaching 30 degrees C with the fan on Auto for several hours and not had a problem, whereas my 7D has almost overheated a few times in similar situations.

I can't wait to test the c100 in 112 plus degree Las Vegas. I've melted several plastic items I've left in my car. Good thing i'm usually inside UFC, Top Rank, and mainly MGM Grand.
