capturing 24F footage with HX A1s

Does anyone know a sure fire way to capture 24F footage onto FCP 7 cause after many many tries, it won't work? The capture settings I'm using are Sequence Preset HDV - 1080p24 and Capture Preset HDV. Is it FCP or camera settings that are the issue. I'm on a Mac Pro 2.66 Quad Core. How do I get past this? Your feedback is most appreciated.

Make sure your camera isn't downconverting HD to SD. I don't have my camera in front of me so I don't have the exact menu setting for you to check.

I just checked the playback menu and the HD DOWN-CONV is greyed out so I assume it isn't downconverting. Does it matter what the recording menu settings are or any other playback settings to check?

Are those FCP the best settings to capture?

I tried yesterday, gave up and again today. Can't edit until the footage is in.

Disconnect your camera from your firewire, then go into the playback menu and make sure it's set to off.

I don't use FCP much, but when I did I used the HDV 24p easy set up.

I appreciate it. I'll try that. I have to step out now and will try again this evening.
Thanks

Thanks so much! After replugging in the firewire, checking and installing any available software updates, and just in case my manual fcp setup had issues, going to the HDV 24p Easy Set Up, between all that, I'm capturing footage now. What a relief. I really appreciate your help!
