Capture trouble XH-A1

Hi there, this is my first post, unfortunately its a problem. I recently bought my xh-a1 and am trying to capture footage on my laptop (SD recording, fairly new dell laptop, windows XP). Every software I try to capture on; Adobe Premiere, Nero Startsmart, even moviemaker won't capture properly. Premiere gets the farthest, it captures about 3 jittery seconds before abandoning capure and saying that "frames were dropped during capture" and "can't find timecode during capture". When I play back the 2 or 3 seconds, the image plays normally for about 1 second, freeze frames, then continues normally for about another 1/2 second. Does anybody have any suggestions how to fix my problem?

So, I managed to get the camera capturing fine on a different computer, using the same software, but it still won't capture on my laptop. When I set an in point and an out point, and set to capture, no footage is captured whatsoever. When I press ESC to stop it, it says 'no frames were captured'. Thankful hat I got it running, but still want to solve this problem. Any ideas?

I wonder if your laptop can handle the load? Is it running so slow it can't keep up, thus throwing the time code off.

Did you shoot 24f? maybe the software won't support the framerate. I did the same thing with Final Cut Express 3.5 and didn't realize that it doesn't support a 24 frame timeline. It'd split my clips into 5 second segments with un-synced audio and way jittery. I just switched to Vegas Pro and haven't had a problem.

Yeah, I'm thinking that the speed of the computer may be the problem. I think the software is alright though as I use the same version both times and it worked on one computer not the other.

Be sure that you are capturing to the internal hard drive. In the past I have had issues while capturing to external drives. It would take about the first 5 seconds and then stop recording.
