capture settings for hd?

I'll be capturing my footage tomorrow and I've never done this before. I shot the footage at 24f and 1080i hd. I'll be editing on a G5 and also have an external hard drive available.

How should I capture these settings? Which codec should I use (not sure if the comp has FCP 6.0)?

Just go to the FCP menu and choose "Easy Setup" and then choose HDV 1080 24p. Everything will be setup for capture/editing/output from there on out. Just make sure the camera is in VCR mode and set to HDV playback and also make sure that downconversion is turned off as it will cause the camera to output regular DV instead of HDV.
