Capture Quality - Firewire vs SVideo vs Component

My Firewire port is fried and so I have to use another method to capture.
I do have a Canopus ADVC-300 DV converter and therefore I can use SVideo or component output from my DVX100 into the ADVC-300 and firewire output to my camera.

1. Is there a quality difference between the DVX100 outputs (Firewire vs SVideo vs Component) when capturing?

2. If so which output should I use, SVideo or Component?

Thanks in advance

The DVX doesn't have Component, only S-Video and Composite. (of which S-Video is higher quality).

Do you have access to another MiniDV deck/camcorder? That would be your best bet. - Many people use seperate cheapo camcorders to capture with to save the heads on their DVXs
